Terms of Service

1. About These Terms
These terms apply to all purchases from canemerchant.com, operated from the United Kingdom. By placing an order you agree to these terms. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

2. Our Products
Our walking sticks are made to order and delivered within two weeks. Product images are representative; as many of our pieces feature hand finishing, carving and applied decoration, small variations in colour, grain and detail are natural and are part of what makes each piece individual. Dimensions listed are approximate.

Our canes are sold as fashion and everyday walking accessories. They are not medical devices and are not intended to treat or manage any medical condition. If you require a mobility aid for medical reasons, please consult a healthcare professional about the correct equipment and fit.

3. Orders and Payment
All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. Payment is taken in full at checkout through Shopify's secure payment providers. We reserve the right to cancel any order prior to dispatch, for example where a product is unavailable or a pricing error has occurred, in which case you will receive a full refund. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable.

4. Discounts and Offers
Multibuy discounts apply automatically at checkout to qualifying orders. Offers cannot be combined with other promotions unless stated, may be withdrawn at any time, and have no cash value.

5. Delivery
We deliver across the United Kingdom, free of charge, typically within two weeks of ordering as each piece is made to order. Estimated timescales are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. If a delay arises we will keep you informed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery; ownership passes on receipt of full payment.

6. Returns and Refunds
Our full returns policy is set out on our Returns page and forms part of these terms. In summary, you have 30 days from delivery to return an unused cane in its original condition and packaging for a full refund. Faulty or damaged items are replaced or refunded in full, including postage.

7. Bespoke Commissions
Bespoke and commissioned pieces are made to your personal specification. Once production has begun, bespoke orders cannot be cancelled or returned for change of mind, in line with UK consumer law on personalised goods. Bespoke pieces remain fully covered against faults and transit damage. Timescales for commissions are agreed individually during consultation.

8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or to reproduce our product photography, descriptions or branding without written permission. All content on this site belongs to Cane Merchant.

9. Liability
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms, but not for losses that were not foreseeable, business losses, or losses arising from misuse of a product. Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published at the time of your order applies to that order.

11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
